Net Entertainment (NetEnt) have announced some big name brand signups with Emoji and Planet of the Apes coming to a casino near you soon. To top off a series of big announcements, the company also intends to launch a VR (virtual reality) casino game in the form of a VR slot.
With the company releasing a quick-fire series of newsworthy items, as well as a top-notch set of company accounts showing vastly increased revenue and great growth expectations, we thought we’d take a look at some of the reasons NetEnt are going to continue with their rapid expansion.
NetEnt to Launch Smiles and Fun with Emojiplanet®
We didn’t know it either but those popular Emojis are a huge brand and one of the most used in the World. Digital messaging has brought the Emoji into popular use over a wide range of modern communication channels. NetEnt’s Emoji branded game is set to bring a unique social gaming experience to the world of online gaming.
To produce the game NetEnt have teamed up with Global Merchandising Services & The emoji Company. It will bring a range of innovative casino gaming features into the game, bringing life the popular icons.
The Emoji game has been designed primarily as a mobile first game so you’ll be able to enjoy it at home or on the move. Expect to see the game at the end of summer following the release of the Emoji movie, titled rather inspiring, “The Emoji Movie.”
Simon Hammon, Chief Product Officer of NetEnt, comments,
“As a leader in both mobile online gaming and innovation, Emojis is a perfect fit with NetEnt.” “Emojis have become a language in their own right.”

The deal covers the entire Planet of the Apes brand and the new slot game is set to create a huge buzz among fans of the movie. Expected release is, again, later in the summer of 2017 and the game is set to bring stunning graphics along with some unique game mechanics to the gaming screen.
Simon Hammon, commented, “Planet of the Apes is one of the largest film franchises in the world never to have been applied to gaming before. With such a rich history, the brand resonates with everyone that has grown up with the films, and it will fit perfectly with NetEnt’s wide and divers player base.”
Virtual Reality Gaming Coming with a VR Slot
Finally. NetEnt, have announced that they intend to develop its first real money play Virtual Reality slot game to the casino games space.
Gonzo’s Quest has been chosen for the conversion and is already of NetEnt’s most popular and played slot games title.
The use of virtual reality (VR) is a relatively new but growing trend among players, who enjoy all forms of gaming, looking for more immersive and interactive gaming experiences.
Net Entertainment is committed to ensuring they keep up with new technology advances and thinks that WebVR technology will be mature enough to offer VR game play in 2017 or 2018. NetEnt is committed to helping its customers stay ahead of the competition.
Per Eriksson, CEO of NetEnt, had this to say,
“We firmly believe that VR has a given place in the future of online gaming, based on our research and the trends that we monitor. We remain focused on delivering the ultimate entertainment experience by taking this first step towards developing our first real-money VR slot. This is a milestone for NetEnt and the gaming industry.”
