Kindred Group Buys 32Red Plc
The parent company of 32Red.com, the Microgaming powered online casino, is in the process of being acquired by Kindred Group (formerly Unibet Group).
The gambling news from 32Red deal just announced is worth over $200 million, will see Kindred purchasing 32Red Plc and its online gambling brands. Share prices in the London-listed 32Red Plc shot up following an announcement by Kindred over its intentions to buy the group.
Kindred have been on an acquisition spree in the last few years, grabbing up Stan James’ online gambling arm, as well as iGame and Bingo.com. Gambling news from 32Red is unclear whether the current CEO of 32Red Plc, Ed Ware, will continue on in his role once the takeover has been completed.

Online Gambling Legislation Introduced in Michigan
Finally in our gambling news this week, the state of Michigan in the US is aiming once more to bring online gambling legislation to the governor’s desk, with the introduction of the Lawful Internet Gaming Act.
State Senator Mike Kowall introduced the bill, with the intention of licensing state brick and mortar casinos that will allow them to offer online casino games.
Poker will be one of the games, as well as the option to introduce others. There doesn’t seem to be a cap on the number of casinos that would be able to hold a license. If the bill becomes law, the process needs to be completed within a year.
It is hoped that a hearing by the Senate Regulatory Reform Committee will be held this week.
