US Gambling - New Jersey Sports Betting
Legal Sports Betting on the Horizon for New Jersey - After another turbulant week in the US Gambling legalities epic, Chris Christie, the Governor of New Jersey, recently signed a bill that was introduced by Senator Ray Lesniak allowing state authorities to challenge the federal Professional and Amateur Sports Protection Act (PASPA).
Sports Betting was banned in all but four states in the US in terms of the PASPA and the signing of the new bill has the platform off which to challenge the provisions of PASPA in a court of law.
Legalised Sports Betting could possibly generate much needed tax revenues and illegal bookies would be required to pay for licenses to operate in the state.
More tourists would be attracted to places such as Atlantic City if they were able to offer sports betting on their premises.
