BabeWorld TV launches BetBabes, more gaming companies pile into the newly regulated French marketplace and Bwin confirms that they're still in talks with PartyGaming regarding a merger of the two companies. Read on for the latest and hottest gambling news this week.
Sportsbetting Links with BabeWorld TV on New Site
A new sportsbetting brand has been launched through BetBabes88, a site that will provide the last world in World Cup betting as well as live three hour daily transmission on the popular BabeWorld TV.
Players will be able to enjoy jackpots, cash prizes and betting activity at a top site. “There’s a significant overlap in target audience between those who like to bet on sports and those who tune in to stations such as BabeWorld TV,” explained former Sky Sports presenter, Alan Bentley. “If you pick up a copy of any lads magazine, you see beautiful women and sport side by side. BetBabes88.com is just taking this to the next level.”
Several More Operators Get French Licenses
In a second wave of application approvals, the French regulator published the name of several more gambling operators who could now offer their services to the French market. These included a number of major names such as Poker Stars. Another company that received approval was Party Gaming, which is now entitled to launch five French facing online gaming groups in the form of Party Poker, Party Bets, Game Bookers, Act Poker and Lucky Jeux.
While some companies seek French approval, others are exiting the market in defiance of the new regulations.
Bwin Head Confirms Talks with Party Gaming are Still Ongoing
For months now, the industry has been watching the progress between two of the biggest giants, Party Gaming and Bwin as they try to thrash out a merger deal. While not much information has been forthcoming about the deal, speculation has been high that an agreement is imminent.
However, last week, the Chairman of Bwin, Hannes Androsch was quoted by the Austrian publication, Trend that “talks with the English company ultimately did not lead to the desired outcome.”
Major media groups reported on the supposed break down in the talks until Androsch put the record straight by saying that a number of important words were left out of the statement, which should have read: “It is true that up until now, talks have not lead to any specific outcome.”
