Microgaming and Playtech News

Two of the World's largest gaming software suppliers announced major changes to their legislation and focus on potential gaming markets.  Microgaming have launched a new compliance program and Playtech wants to position itself better for re-entry into the lucrative US market should it become regulated and legalised.

Kahnawake Launches New Compliance Program

The Kahnawake Gaming Commission has announced the launch of its Continuous Compliance Program, which will set new standards of fair play and player protection for its 55 online gambling operator licensees.

The groups will need to submit their live gaming data for analysis and go through annual assessment of best industry regulations. The KGC asked eCOGRA help oversee the compliance of the licensees to the new program and believes that this will add significantly to its success.

“The KGC has a long-standing working relationship with eCOGRA and is confident in eCOGRA’s ability to effectively implement the Continuous Compliance Program while ensuring that all information received from operators is held in the strictest confidence,” said Dean Montour, Chairman of the KGC.

Playtech Shifts Closer to US Gambling Market

Playtech, one of the leading software groups in the industry, has partnered with the New York based Scientific Games Corp to bring the industry a new product – SciPlay.

The new gaming platform will incorporate a full suite of games developed for the US and international markets, and will create a sound opportunity for Playtech to enter the US market when it finally becomes regulated and legalized.

“This is a strategically significant alliance for Playtech which enables us to focus on what we do best: developing cutting edge technology platforms and exciting games content,” said Playtech CEO, Mor Weizer. “This partnership is another example of our focus on regulated markets, where governments will play major roles as both regulators and operators.”
