Ladbrokes Security Breach
Ladbrokes experienced a security breach this week when an anonymous person has managed to gain hold of the personal details of over 4.5 million users on Ladbrokes’ database, and offered to sell them for a price to a UK newspaper.
The UK bookmaker was made aware of the issue by the newspaper and immediately brought in the authorities to investigate the matter.
Ladbrokes said that no financial details were included in the security breach and that credit card information and passwords were kept well protected.
“We have been informed that a person connected to our organization has offered certain details from a customer database to the Mail on Sunday,” said the Head of PR at Ladbrokes, Ciaran O'Brien. “This is a criminal act and we are working with the police, the ICO and the newspaper to identify and apprehend the culprit.”
Ladbrokes operate Ladbrokes Casino, Poker and Bingo sites as well as they're renowned Sportsbook.
