Loto Quebec to Launch Online Gambling Products

The Canadian lottery group, Loto Quebec has announced that it will be launching online poker and sportsbetting products in the province by next summer.

The group said that the Canadian online gambling industry had jumped by 30% in the past few years and is worth nearly $700 million at present.

“The lottery sector has changed greatly over the past 40 years,” said President and CEO, Alain Cousineau.

“Loto-Québec's new products will, therefore, need to incorporate such factors as competition, decision-making and skill, in addition to the fun of playing. That is a major challenge, but meeting it successfully is critical if we are to maintain our products' competitiveness.”
