Sportingbet to Pay Levy Board More

Sportingbet to Generate More Back to Horseracing.
Following a decision by management, the online betting group, Sportingbet has announced its intentions to pay 10% of its gross profit earned from European players to the Levy Board in the UK.

The move has been done voluntarily, although the horseracing industry has been putting increasing pressure on gambling groups to contribute more to the sports.

“Paying levy enhances the quality of horseracing, which in turn benefits the betting industry,” said Douglas Erskine-Crum, Chief Executive of the Levy Board.

“It is in the betting industry's interest to develop this virtuous circle. We are continuing to work with Government as it addresses the wider betting and gaming environment but, in the meantime, we welcome Sportingbet's initiative and call upon all betting operators based outside Britain to adopt the same constructive policy.”
