Bwin Enters Italian Gaming Market

Bwin Finalizes Expansion into Italian Gaming Market.
A deal was finally signed this week between the Austrian bwin and the Italian-based gaming group, Gioco Digitale, essentially giving bwin about 25% of the country’s poker market.

The price tag for this deal was EUR 115 million and has been met by approval by online casino analysts and experts across the board.

“We look forward to extending and replicating the success we have had in Italy in the other European countries that are due to follow Italy's liberalization and market regulation,” said the founder of Gioco Ditigale, who will continue to head bwin’s Italian gaming unit.
