Hearing Date Set in the Case of iMEGA Vs US DoJ
The Third US Circuit Court of Appeals has set a hearing date for the 7th July in the case between iMEGA (Interactive Media Entertainment and Gaming Association) and the US Department of Justice.
iMEGA has argued that the UIGEA (Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act) should be made void on the basis that it is particularly vague.
iMEGA's chairman, Joe Brennan, Jr., asserts that the only reason the act still exists is because of careful political maneuvering and not because the act itself has any validity or Constitutionality.
Brennan said "We feel confident that when the judges take a look at the law, they will see just how defective it is, and they will overturn it."
