PokerRoom Ends Operations

PokerRoom.com, one of the first online poker rooms to be created, and one that grew to be one of the most popular at its peak, has announced that it is closing its doors and will no longer be operating.

“Well folks,” read the statement, “after almost ten years of fun and games, it is with a heavy heart and a tear in my eye that I have to announce that this is it; as of 11:00 CET today, Tuesday the 14th of April 2009, PokerRoom.com will no longer be open for online poker.”

PokerRoom players are being encouraged to move their accounts to the bwin site where excellent bonuses await them.
