Irish Open Day 1 – Live Poker
The greatest ever Irish poker event will start being played today in Dublin on Day 1 of the Irish Poker Open. The superstars of poker have gathered together for the biggest date in the Irish Poker calendar and we're bring the event to you live.
The Irish Poker Open is the longest running poker tournament in Europe and second longest in the world, coming in second to the World Series of Poker. The event was first organised in 1981 and has since been attracting some of the biggest names in poker to the tables.
The action will start with around 600 players playing in the €3,500 buy-in Main Event which runs over a full 3 days and is sure to fire up some great poker action. The total prize pool is set to be just under the €2,000,000 mark so there's plenty of incentive to produce some great poker.

Of course, Marty Smyth , former winner of the Irish Open will also be there to try and regain his title and he'll be hoping to make it it at least to the last table of the Irish Open.
Last year, English poker pro Neil Channing took down the title winning €801,400 in the process along with the Irish Open title. He defeated local Donal Norton of Tipperary who received €420,000 for second place.
