WPT Main Event in Venice

Poker lovers should take note that the main event of the World Poker Tour (WPT) tournament will take place in Venice this May. This is the first time that Italy has been given the honor of hosting this exciting poker event.

WPT partnered with bwin to bring players the tournament, which will be broadcast on the gambling company’s web based channel.

“We are delighted to be working with the WPT on this spectacular tournament,” said Manfred Brodner of bwin.

“This event will bring in the excitement that only bwin can offer - people will be able to bet on the players of the final table while watching the action on the screen.”

The World Poker Tour first began in 2002 and completed in April 2003 in the World famous Bellagio Casino in Las Vegas.  It is now about to commence its ninth season and has been credited for much of the popularity of playing poker both online and offline in the past few years due to being shown across the US on TV.
