European Parliament Bad Mouths Online Gambling

European Parliament Members adopted a report earlier this week that essentially puts online gambling in a negative perspective.

The report, initiated by a Danish MEP, calls for decisions on online gambling legislation to be made at national level instead of having the issue decided by the European Court of Justice.  However it also emphasized all the negative qualities of the industry in a scathing attack.

"The serious claims in this Resolution are highly detrimental to European licensed operators, which already comply with stringent legislation and high standards of consumer protection and social responsibility," commented Clive Hawkswood, speaking for the Remote Gaming Association, a group that represents online gambling operators in Europe.
