Online Poker for California?

Industry rumors have it that the State of California is so keen to introduce a legal and regulated online poker industry (and thus bring in significant revenue through taxation and licensing), that it is considering approaching gambling operators at an upcoming iGaming conference to see how to proceed.

Industry analysts believe that a group such as 888 Holdings could be the perfect option for California. 

“888 Poker is one that's been mentioned,” said one source.

“They are looking at companies that are publicly traded and 888 fits the bill.

They are also trying to settle any issues with the US government in relation to their taking bets from US customers prior to the passage of poker prohibition in 2006, much like Party Gaming, but nobody is turning themselves in.”
