Insider Winnings Anger Ontario Lottery Ombudsman -
The Ontario Lottery and Gaming has been given a stern warning by the ombudsman regarding the high level of insider winnings that has plagued the lottery since 1995.
The ombudsman threatened to bar relatives and employees from taking part in the lottery if the OLG is unable is bring down the fraud statistics that have cost the company over $160 million throughout the last decade.
“This is not a clean bill of health for the Ontario Lottery and Gaming,” said the ombudsman, Andre Marin. “If insiders can't control their itchy fingers, we're going to have to treat them like kids and bar them.”
