South Korea Gambling
South Korea Newspaper Urges Authorities to Stop Online Gambling.
Following the highly publicized case of the former Korean baseball-player-turned-TV-show host, Kang Byung-kyu admitting that he lost millions gambling online, the Korean media has called for the government to take stronger steps against ‘illegal online casinos’.
This is despite the fact that the National Police dedicated October to rooting out and arresting over 1600 people who ran or participated in online gambling operations.
The daily Korea Times said in an editorial that the government should educate the public about the ‘dangers’ of online gambling’.
