The next year or two are going to see seething changes, both online and off as a global recession bears down on us.  Sure, some sites will close as new entrepreneurs open new ones but we'll continue to bring you the best reviews and news of the most trusted online casinos, poker rooms, bingo halls and other gambling sites.  One thing to remember though is that, with prices of living goods getting ever higher, please don't gamble more than you can have fun with and reasonable afford to lose.

New Poker Room for iPoker Network
The popular Mansion Poker site announced that it has joined the iPoker network, after shifting from Ongame Poker network. Mansion Poker has been with Ongame since October last year and no reason other than ‘strategic differences’, were given for the sudden move.

Mansion Poker and Ongame Poker Network said in a co-statement: “In a mutual decision, Mansion (Gibraltar) Ltd. and Ongame Network have decided to part ways and have moved the Mansion Poker service from the Ongame Network as of September 24th , 2008. Due to strategic differences it has been decided to end the two companies' dynamic one-year partnership before Ongame Network enters the preparation phase of launching a new online poker network based on the recently announced P5 Poker Engine product.”  As far as we are aware, there have been no changes to Mansion Casino.

Lasseters Online Casino Closes its Doors
Unable to bounce back after the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act left it out of the US market two years ago, Lasseters Corporation announced this week that it would be ceasing all online casino operations, effective immediately.

The company shut down its AusVegas site last month and suspended itself from the Australia stock market soon afterwards. “From all of here at AusVegas, this is a very sad day. We hope you have enjoyed the AusVegas site as much as we have enjoyed delivering our games/services to you, and would like to take this opportunity to express our sincere gratitude for your loyalty over the past years,” read a statement on the Australian online casino site. Unfortunately, we've had to remove Lasseters from our casino reviews pages.

iMEGA Takes Next Legal Step Against UIGEA
The Interactive Media Entertainment and Gaming Association (iMEGA) has decided to continue in its ongoing fight against the constitutionality of the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act by filing a brief with an appeals court in Philadelphia last week. “This is a very simple argument on which we ask the court to overturn the law. UIGEA should be 'void for vagueness' in that Congress has not defined what an 'unlawful internet gambling transaction' is, as they are required,” said the CEO of iMEGA, Joe Brennan, “Congress cannot delegate that necessary determination as to what is 'lawful' or 'unlawful' to US banks and credit card companies.”

Probability Recognized as Top Mobile Company
Mobile Entertainment magazine awarded Probability Plc with the title of Best Gambling Company at an event held in London last week. The company took over the title from Spin3, a Microgaming powered mobile software supplier, which has held the title for two years. Over four hundred mobile industry executives judged this year’s competition to determine 19 different winners in three categories.
