Advertising Mayhem in Sweden

Sweden has seen some sports betting advertising mayhem.  Due to an attempt to remain loyal to the state gambling operator, Svenska Spel, the Swedish Ice Hockey Association has rebuked a local team, Bjorkloven, for allowing the privately owned NordicBet to advertise its company on the ice during an ice hockey game.

Under the terms of an agreement signed with Svenska Spel, Association members may not promote competition sites or companies.

Nordic Bet has lashed back at the Association’s threat to fine Bjorkloven and said that it would continue to support the team indefinitely.
