US Treasury Should Clarify UIGEA Wording, Say Republicans
In a letter to the US Treasury, four Republican members of Congress called for a total clarification of the wording of the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act before it is implemented in the United States.

“Simply put,” wrote Jim Gerlach (Pennsylvania), Judy Biggert (Illinois), Kevin McCarthy (California) and Christopher Shays (Connecticut), “we believe that it is possible that if UIGEA laws and regulations are implemented with the vague language we described above, a judge may eventually be required to answer the question of 'what is unlawful internet gambling? It makes fiscal sense to resolve this question before saddling the public, regulated industries, small businesses and courts with uncertain UIGEA laws and regulations.”

Spanish Online Lottery Site Performing Excellently
The new Spanish Lottery online site has performed exceedingly well in its first month of operations, according to the Spanish STL.

The site, loteriasyapuestas.com, has successfully lured a large number of Spanish gamblers seeking online lottery and sports betting options in a safe and recognized environment. “Nowadays, sales through this alternate channel are a must,” said a spokesman for STL. “The rapid growth of internet penetration that we’ve been witnessing in Spain, makes it imperative to implement new sales channels in order to stay competitive.”
