8.6% of UK Gambles Online

8.6% of Britons Gamble Online but it's mostly on the lottery and not internet gambling, casinos or bingo sites.

According to the latest independent survey commissioned by the UK Gambling Commission, which probed the gambling habits of 8000 respondents, the number of people who gambled online remained the same as the previous year – 8.6% - despite that fact that the general population has been exposed to gambling advertising this past year.

Most of the gamblers fell into the 18-35 year old age group, and more men than women played online.

The majority of those who chose to gamble online did so by playing the National Lottery, while only 1% played at online casinos or bingo sites.
