South African Online Gambling

A local South African newspaper has reported that online gambling might soon become a legal entity in the country. The move aims to allow South Africans to participate in online gambling in a regulated and secure environment.

The current laws prohibit South Africans to participate in online gambling, even if the service provider is based offshore.

Due to the lack of current regulation, players who do gamble online have no protection. A bill was pushed forward this week, however, that would enable entities to requests licenses for internet gambling sites. Once these sites are licensed and regulated, the citizens would be able to enjoy secure gambling.
