New Super Hero Releases for CryptoLogic
CryptoLogic has announced the introduction of two new slot games in its award-winning Marvel Slots Super Heroes series. Spider Man and Fantastic Four will join other favorites such as the Hulk and X-Men at CryptoLogic licensee sites across the internet. The Fantastic Four game will allow players to battle it out against Dr. Doom, all the while standing in line to win fantastic rewards and up to fifteen free game spins. Spider Man also features jam-packed adventure and excitement, as well as big payouts of up to 5,000 times a line bet!

Microgaming Ups its Poker Offering
From as early as next year, all forty poker rooms in the Microgaming family will be able to boast a new updated beta version of the company’s poker offerings. The new software will be released at the upcoming International Casino Exhibition in London next month. Amongst the exciting traits of this new software is complete table redesign and intuitive features to get players at any level to a suitable table as fast as possible. Also included are updated player histories, pop-up hand histories and other popular features. The CEO of Microgaming said that the upgrade was based on extensive player feedback.

FirePay Closes its Doors
The UK online money exchange and payment processor site, FirePay announced this week that it was not accepting any more deposits by its customers, nor would it be processing any more money exchange transactions. In a statement, FirePay said that its customers, many of whom use the company to facilitate the payment process of their online gambling fun, would allow players 150 days to withdraw their funds and review their account statements. After that time period, the company would charge a $25 payment handling fee if any of its customers requested a funds withdrawal.

Poker Stars Releases Apple Version
Leading online poker rooms, Poker Stars has released a beta Apple version of its successful poker software, making the games available to loyal Macintosh users. The games were tested for several months on the Poker Stars site off its ‘play-for-fun’ platform, with players reacting positively to the new software. The Apple version is very similar to the current Windows-friendly program, only lacking the Preferred Seat features and Layout Manager. Apple users will not need to use third-party Windows emulator products to enjoy the new software, making it a welcome addition to this segment of the online gambling industry.

Chip Reese Legacy
Future winners of the World Series of Poker H.O.R.S.E. Event will receive a trophy named after the late Chip Reese. The youngest person ever admitted to the Poker Hall of Fame and a true stalwart of the poker scene, Chip Reese was recognized as the most successful player of mixed cash games of all time.

A great tournament player who won a total of three WSOP bracelets, including one for his historic victory in the inaugural $50,000 buy-in H.O.R.S.E. tournament in 2006. Sadly David "Chip" Reese passed away last week after a short illness.
