UK Gambling Commission Report
This week the UK's Gambling Commission published a report into the prevalence of gambling in the UK.  To more or less everyones surprise, especially with the introduction of the National Lottery as well as the booming online gambling industry, the report stated that in the past eight years, problem gambling in the UK has not grown.  Being a Government led report, it's nice to see for once that, although problem gambling does exist, it is not as large a problem as some quarters would like you to believe.  As always though, if you think you do have a gambling problem, please seek professional help and advice.

IMCI and Spin3 Sign Joint Agreement
International Marketing Concepts and Innovation (IMCI), a leading Dutch company, has signed a partnership deal with one of the mobile developer companies from the Microgaming network, Spin3. The agreement will have Spin3 supplying its highly entertaining play-for-fun software consisting of popular online casino games to IMCI. The software is marketed under the name of SpinLite. IMCI has a strong following of customers who regularly use their lottery and bingo services. The new agreement will expose them to the fun of wireless casino gambling and will afford IMCI the opportunity to penetrate a new type of market.

Facebook Provides Poker Solution to US Players
Poker players from the United States, whose gaming fun has been curbed by the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act, have found a new way to get their poker entertainment online. The popular social internet site, Facebook offers a free poker service to anybody in the world, with poker fundies playing for virtual poker chips instead of real cash. Upon signing up in the virtual poker room, players are automatically awarded 200 free chips and a further 500 free chips as part of a refer-a-friend promotion. To date, over 140,000 gamers play Texas Hold ‘em poker on a daily basis on Facebook, although it is available to 40 million users free of charge.

CryptoLogic to Market New Marvel Heroes
The leading software provider, CryptoLogic has announced that it will be adding more superheroes to its wildly successful Marvel Super Hero series. This time round, Spiderman and the Fantastic Four will join Hulk, Captain America and several others to provide players with entertaining games based on these characters. CryptoLogic obtained sole rights to market Spiderman and co. until the end of 2010 and players are waiting with baited breath to see what great games this software icon will produce.
