888 Joins Forces with Latin-American Poker Platform
A partnership deal has been signed between the beleaguered 888 Holdings PLC and the wildly successful Latin American poker provider, Tower Tourneos. 888, which saw a good profit for the year, in spite of US regulations, is hoping that the new deal will help pull it out of the slump that is has been experiencing since the UIGEA was signed into US law last year. Already the company has reported a bumper July month. 888 will provide Tourneo with its poker platform and also allow Tourneo players to access its bingo, backgammon and casino games. The two companies will also develop a series of games appropriate to the Latin-American market.

PacificNet Enters Chinese Gambling Market
Through two of its subsidiaries (PacificNet Technology and PacificNet Games), the internet and mobile gaming provider, PacificNet will acquire 51% of the leading Chinese company, Guangdong Poly Blue Express Communications. What is so significant about this acquisition agreement is that Guangdong has approval from the Chinese government to legally operate real time paperless lottery services. It is a huge boon for the American-based PacificNet to have a foothold in a country that is so restrictive in its e-gambling laws, especially through a company that is government approved. It is generally believed in the industry that the Chinese online gambling market is a huge goldmine just waiting to be untapped.

Red Lounge Introduces Handy New Glossary
The popular online gambling site, Red Lounge Casino, always keen to improve its services, has announced the launch of a new glossary that will assist players with their gaming choices. The comprehensive glossary will provide a list of all the games offered on Red Lounge’s site in a two-part format. The first part will include an overview of the game with general information. The second part will include a very detailed explanation of the game’s rules, regulations, symbols and statistics. This section will also include illustrations to really familiarize players with the games of their choice.

Partygaming on TV
A lucrative deal has been signed between the UK’s television company, ITV and the popular software giant, PartyGaming. Under the terms of the new partnership contract, PartyGaming will power a selection of games on ITV’s official website, including one of England’s best-loved games, bingo. ITV has, in the past, in conjunction with Sportech, tried to incorporate casino games on its site, however that venture failed. It is expected that PartyGaming’s excellent suite of games will give ITV the products that it needs to make this new project a success. ITV runs some of the nation’s highest rated shows, including the X-Factor and Coronation Street.
