Intercasino and Let It Ride Poker
To start off I've deposited £50 into Intercasino, the UK Pounds version of the site. This was awarded a 100% matching bonus giving me £100 to play the games with.
I'm planning to run with 3 or 4 casinos using different software so I can get a good feel for the types of games on offer over them all and we can discuss the good and bad points of each as we go. I haven't decided on which other software I'll be using yet but will let you know when I choose which to use for these pages.
Intercasino is one of the longest running online casinos and have many players who are devout followers of this casino and also the other casinos that run the same software, which include Littlewoods and William Hill Casinos.
The software is provided by Cryptologic and the range of games is very nice, they also are providers of some unique games, especially slots, that are tied-in with big name brands, primarily the Marvel slots range and also Frightmare slots.
To start off I started by playing some Let It Ride Poker. It's an old favourite of mine and I enjoy playing the game although the house edge is a fairly large at approximately 3.5%.
The thing I don't like about Intercasino is the minimum bets are high for an online casino. Playing the Let It Ride game, the bet is a mimimum of £2 which you have to place on three spots, although, you can, of course, withdraw 2 spots during the hand. For non-UK readers, this equates to about US $4 and can quickly deplete your reserves if you hit a losing streak.
After playing for 15 minutes, I found my account standing at £104, a profit of £4. This game tends to give you many losing hands or simply tens or better hands that are paid out at even money but when you do get a straight or a flush the winning are bumped up with much better odds. As an example a straight gives you 5 to 1 and a straight 8 to 1. I generally don't play the extra bet on this game although I have in the past. The payouts are good but unless you have a big stack of chips, I'd advise steering well clear as the payouts are few and far between.
I followed this up with a few games of Bejewelled. Bejewelled is great fun and I really enjoy this one. It's a strange game to describe and consists of a grid of squares that get filled with various jewels. A line or 3 or more jewels pays out various rewards and you can play a maximum of 10 lines. Get 3 or more and they will vanish to be replaced with others so if you hit a winning streak, you can get a few wins with one play. By the way the Bewjewelled logo is wild and can replace any other symbol on the grid.
What you have to watch with this game is that you don't spend too much money. You might get a win every hand but these small wins may not cover your spend per game. You might think you're doing well but your money is going down all the time. Just be warned and keep checking.
I played each game with the maximum 10 lines and a minimum bet of 10 pence per line costing £1 per game. I played for about 15 minutes and finished up with my account standing at £116. Not bad for my first posting in this blog. It won't last, you don't expect it to, but it's not going to go on just now as I've things to do and I'm more of a night-time player rather than a daytime and it's the middle of the afternoon right now!
