The Casino Experiment

Time for some serious casino playing in a fun experiment!

This is the very first entry in my new casino blog examining how far money in the online casinos can go and how much fun you can have with a set amount of funds.  Remember, if you are going to play casino games online, limit your loses, don't play with money you can't afford and don't chase your losses.  It's all about entertainment so keep it that way and if you can't afford to gamble, remember that all online casinos allow free play.

So on with the casino playing experiment but remember it's not very scientific!

I'm writing this as I start a small experiment with playing casino games to see how I can fare if I deposit money and try to win some.  I'm going to deposit some money into a few different casinos, play a range of games and see how quickly I lose my money or if indeed, I can actually cash out more than I've deposited. 

Now I know that the casinos are there to make money and over the long term they nearly always win but I love playing casino games online and don't really mind paying a little for a lot of enjoyment.  However, for my few pounds I do expect a fairly lengthy duration of playing time and I'm also looking for plenty of thrills and action for my money.  Well doesn't everyone?

Although I've been known to play for fairly large stakes, I'll be keeping the money low for this experiment to replicate the betting limits of what a normal newish player is likely to wager in an online casino and see how much fun you can have in an online casino for a set amount of money.  I'm going to list the games played, what I like and dislike about them, how long I played for and how much I've managed to win or lose. 

This will be an ongoing experiment which I'll blog about as I go and this will give us a good running total of my wins or loses.  It might even provide a few laughs as we take this trip through they eyes of a regular online casino player.  That's me by the way.  Although I run casino sites and have played many games, I'm not a professional player by any means and see myself as no better than the average online player.   I will be using my own money for this blog, so no thinking that I'm being sponsored in some way although if you want to check out the casinos that I'm discussing, feel free to click on the banner advertising on these pages.

I don't employ many strategies when playing casino games but make sure I know the rules before playing.  I do use basic blackjack strategy though, well most of the time anyway! Read up on blackjack strategy before playing.  See our Splitting Pairs, Soft Totals and Hard Totals articles.

This isn't going to be a very serious experiement either, just a log of my playing online to get a general overview of online play and to discuss some games in general terms.  Don't expect averages over long periods of play either, I like to play for 5 to 10 minutes and then changes games or have a break and do other things between times. 

I'll also be keeping this experiment to the times I play for real money.  Most of the articles I write are written when playing for fun chips, so it doesn't cost me much if anything.  Therefore I don't play for money that often but we'll give it a go and see how things go.

Of course, I may change the rules as I go, just to keep you on your toes!!
