Lets get on with it...

Neteller Won’t Commit to Frozen Funds Payout Date

The investigation against the online banking service Neteller is still ongoing and this week the company was forced to make an announcement that it would need to go back on previous commitments. Several months ago, Neteller announced that within 75 days, all frozen funds belonging to U.S. players would be released. However, the latest announcement cancelled out that promise and instead promised to pay out the funds when the investigations were completed. The bottom line is that nobody knows when that will be. In addition, Neteller said it would not pay out interest to players whose money was locked in their accounts through no fault of their own.

Lifestyle Site Opens New Gaming Site

The popular poker and lifestyle site, Purple Lounge announced the launch of a new online gaming site that will allow its players to try other forms of entertainment other than poker. Purple Lounge, in collaboration with the software giant Microgaming, will offer its 30,000 subscribers the chance to choose from a range of 300 top quality games on the new site.  Purple Lounge has only been in the market for a year and a half, but has already attracted a large following of players, especially from the United Kingdom, Scandinavia and Spanish-speaking countries. We'll be bring more information on this very soon and plan to include reviews of the new and existing sites.

South African Company Launches Online Casino Website

Despite the fact that online gambling is still not legal in South Africa (legislation is pending), a local company has decided to take its first steps into the internet casino industry. Casino South African announced this week that it will be launching a casino website to target the growing gaming market within the country. The site will feature a number of top names in the online casino world, such as Piggs Peak, Casino Las Vegas and Silver Sands Casino.

Skill Game Legislation Act Attracts PPA Support

Florida Democrat Congressman, Robert Wexler recently announced a new legislation bid to exclude popular skill games such as bridge, chess and poker from the draconic Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act. Under the UIGEA, all gambling activities, including games based mainly on skills, are practically banned in the United States. Wexler’s new law aims to separate skill games from those based on chance alone and make them legal in the eyes of the law. The politician has received enthusiastic backing from the Poker Player’s Association of America – a grassroots organization numbering over 550,000 members. The PPA’s chairman welcomed Wexler’s move and said that he hoped he would succeed in passing the law in the near future.
