Poker freeroll tournaments are common online and offer players who are a bit strapped for cash, the chance to play in real cash games with cash prizes. Some freerolls don't offer much in the way of winnings but that doesn't really matter. You can still immerse yourself in a game or two and pass away those hours without the risk of losing anything. At the worst you can come away with nothing.
So how should you play a freeroll poker tournament? Certainly there is a different strategy than tournaments where a cash buy-in is required, and this is especially noticeable where it's a larger tournament that is being played.
There is a striked difference in the way some players play a freeroll. Many are ready to go all-in with the first hand but as with all tournaments, if you're going to last to the final table then you're going to have to play the game steady and try to pick up pots only when you have a poker hand capable of making the grade.
