Chip Reese Wins the WSOP HORSE
It was a long time coming but after 24 years, Chip Reese has won another bracelet at the World Series of Poker held in Las Vegas. Chip won the HORSE event, the tournament that has had almost as much focus on it as the Main Event.
This one really seperated the men from the boys, or the women from the girls, and has become recognised as probably the one tournament that really shows how skilled poker players are.
With a whopping $50,000 buy-in, the HORSE event received 143 players and Chip Reese won $1.78 Million for landing first place.
The HORSE event is unique in that it consists of five seperate poker games. The games rotate every 40 minutes throughout the first 2 days of play with the third and final day being No Limit Texas Hold'em.
The poker games played are Omaha, Seven and Five Card Stud, Razz, Seven Card Stud High-low and of course Texas Hold'em.
The final heads-up was played for a total of 7 hours and 12 minutes in which Andy Bloch and Chip Reese contested the championship with a formidable battle that seen the chip stacks pass back and forth between the two players.
The prize was the highest payout in any WSOP tournament with the exception of the Main Event which takes place at the beginning of next month.
