Poker isn't just a game of odds and knowing exactly what the chances of winning are depending on the hands you've been dealt. It's about people as well, the poker players, and knowing what to do after making a concious decision about the hands you expect them to be holding.
To be a top poker player you're also required to understand the psychological aspects of the game and the poker players you meet at the table. Poker and psychology go hand in hand and it's what sets the really good players and the poker professionals apart from the rest of us.
Learning how to categorize your opponents when playing in a poker room, either on or offline, is a fundamental aspect of being a good player and will help you win more hands.
