Wanna Play Three Card Poker?
Three Card Poker is becoming more and more
popular online as a fast action and fun game. It's an easy
game to play that can be learned in a few minutes and it's
a game where playing correctly to level the odds as much
as possible is relatively easy to pick up.
It's a casino based table game and in this instance we'll
look at playing in an online casino, of course, this is
more or less the same as in a traditional casino but with
a little more automation. First off, we'll have a look at
the rules of Three Card Poker.
To start a hand of Three Card Poker the rules state
and request that you place an ante bet. You can also choose
to place a bet Pair Plus bet if you wish although this is
not compulsory.
You will then be dealt 3 cards and you have to choose whether
to play, and place another chip of equal value to your ante
on the table, or fold. Playing is like raising in a normal
game of poker with folding being the only other option available.
The Dealer is also dealt 3 cards at this point but you can
only view one of them.
As a general basic strategy for Three Card Poker, you should
play any hand Q-6-4 or higher and fold any hand Q-6-3 or
under.
If you fold then the Dealer wins your ante bet. However,
if you choose to play there are a number of possibilities.
The Dealers cards will be turned over in full view,
if the Dealer's cards do not hold a Queen high or better
then the Dealer fails to qualify and the hand is over. Your
play bet will be returned to you with twice the amount you
placed as your ante bet. Any pair plus bonus will be paid.
A little more on pair plus bonuses later.
If the Dealers hand qualifies and is higher ranking than
yours then the Dealer wins the hand and your chips. A tie
returns both bets to you.
If the Dealer qualifies but is lower than yours then you
will double your money on the ante bet and also the play
bet. If your hand contains a straight flush, three of a
kind or a straight your ante bonus will be paid at the rates
detailed below. Aces can be played as both high and low
cards in Three
Card Poker and due to only 3 cards making a hand, a
straight is higher than a flush.
Straight Flush 5:1
Three of a Kind 4:1
Straight 1:1
If you placed a bet on Pair Plus and your hand contains
a pair or greater then you will typically be paid out at
the odds below:
Straight Flush 40:1
Three of a Kind 30:1
Straight 6:1
Flush 4:1
Pair 1:1
