Caribbean Stud Poker
Caribbean Stud Poker is a table game based along the lines
of poker but perhaps with a hint of blackjack within it.
The game got its, Caribbean Stud Poker, name from the Caribbean
cruises which made the game popular and it now is one of
the more popular casino games and is often played as an
alternative to, or along with, blackjack.
Caribbean Stud Poker begins with you, the player, placing
an ante bet on the table, after which the dealer deals you
five cards, which you are free to look at.
The dealer then deals the casino five cards, four face
down and one placed face up for you to view.
Caribbean Stud Poker then allows you to either raise or
fold. Raising allows you to put twice the amount of your
ante bet up and places it in the "bet" section
of the table. If you fold the casino wins your ante bet.
If you bet then the dealer shows his hand and if a higher
poker hand than yours - the house wins. If your Caribbean
Stud Poker hand is higher then you win. Equal values, whether
the dealer qualifies or not, are a push.
The dealer has to have Ace-King or higher to qualify, if
not, the ante is paid at even money and the bet value is
returned to you. If however, the dealer does qualify and
you win then the payouts are 1:1 for a pair 2:1, 3:1 for
three of a kind and so forth - all the way up to, normally,
1000:1 for a royal flush.
Caribbean Stud Poker is an easy game to play and some spectacular
wins can be had and the house advantage is a reasonable
2.5%.
