Bacarrat Rules - How to Play
Bacarrat rules are easy to learn and play
in the casino. Basically, the player bets on which, of two
hands of cards, will total closest to nine. One hand is
the player hand and the other the bankers. Read our baccarat

The dealer deals two cards to the player and two for the
bankers hand. Each hand starts with a minimum of two cards
and can never have more than three.
Bacarrat Cards are numbered 1 through 9 count at their
normal face value. 10s, Jacks, Queens and Kings count as
zero and Aces count as one. The winning hand is the hand
that adds up to or comes closest to a total of 9 points.
Bacarrat players get even money for a win however there
is a 5% commission charged on winning banker hands. This
is to compensate for the slight advantage to the banker
hand on the way that the cards are drawn. Players normally
also have the option of betting on a tied hand, the odds
paid on this are normally 8-1.
There are distinct rules that apply to the values in both
hands of cards.
Players Bacarrat Hand
If the players hand has a total value of 0, 1, 2, 3, 4 or
5 then the player must draw another card.
Bankers Bacarrat Hand
If the total bankers hand is 3 the banker must draw when the
players 3rd card is 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 or 9 but does not
draw when the players 3rd card is 8.
If the total bankers hand is 4 then the banker must draw
when the players 3rd card is 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 or 7 but does
not draw when the players 3rd card is 0, 1, 8, or 9.
If the total bankers hand is 5 then the banker must draw
when the players 3rd card is 4, 5, 6, or 7 but does not
draw when the players 3rd card is 0, 1, 2, 3, 8, 9.
If the total bankers hand is 6 then the banker must draw
when the players 3rd card is 6 or 7 but does not draw when
the players 3rd card is 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 8, 9.
If the total bankers hand is 7 or 8 then stands, retains
two cards only.
